Dr. Lia Melconian is the Founder and Principal Dentist at Pearly Whites. A proud Londoner, born and raised, Dr. Lia is living the dream she has held since she was a young child: to become a dentist and entrepreneur, serving the community she has always called home.

Her passion for dentistry is matched only by her dedication to creating a patient experience filled with genuine warmth, understanding, and care.

A graduate of the world-renowned King’s College London, Dr. Lia’s approach is often described by her patients as being "far from the typical dentist." This is due to her ability to truly connect with patients and put them at ease right from the start, a reputation that has led patients to travel from as far as Leeds to be under her care.

Dr. Lia has a special empathy and interest in caring for anxious patients because she truly knows what it’s like to feel anxiety. For years, she suffered from a severe fear of flying, an anxiety that felt overwhelming. Determined to conquer it, she enrolled in a specialised course that taught her powerful techniques for managing and overcoming fear.

That experience was life-changing. Not only did she overcome her fear, but she realised that the very same principles of empathy, control, and clear communication could be applied to help her patients. Dr. Lia has personally adapted what she learned to transform the dental experience at Pearly Whites. She understands the physiology of fear and, more importantly, knows the compassionate strategies that lead to lasting calm and confidence.

A trailblazing female leader in dentistry, Dr. Lia is driven by a vision to create a new standard of patient-centred care. Beyond her clinical excellence, she is passionate about supporting and mentoring young women, helping them to achieve their potential in the field of dentistry and beyond.
