Dr. Lia Melconian - Founder & Principal Dentist
Dr. Lia Melconian is the Founder and Principal Dentist at Pearly Whites. A proud Londoner, born and raised, Dr. Lia is living the dream she has held since she was a young child: to become a dentist and entrepreneur, serving the community she has always called home.
Her passion for dentistry is matched only by her dedication to creating a patient experience filled with genuine warmth, understanding, and care.
A graduate of the world-renowned King’s College London, Dr. Lia’s approach is often described by her patients as being "far from the typical dentist." This is due to her ability to truly connect with patients and put them at ease right from the start, a reputation that has led patients to travel from as far as Leeds to be under her care.
Dr. Lia has a special empathy and interest in caring for anxious patients because she truly knows what it’s like to feel anxiety. For years, she suffered from a severe fear of flying, an anxiety that felt overwhelming. Determined to conquer it, she enrolled in a specialised course that taught her powerful techniques for managing and overcoming fear.
That experience was life-changing. Not only did she overcome her fear, but she realised that the very same principles of empathy, control, and clear communication could be applied to help her patients. Dr. Lia has personally adapted what she learned to transform the dental experience at Pearly Whites. She understands the physiology of fear and, more importantly, knows the compassionate strategies that lead to lasting calm and confidence.
A trailblazing female leader in dentistry, Dr. Lia is driven by a vision to create a new standard of patient-centred care. Beyond her clinical excellence, she is passionate about supporting and mentoring young women, helping them to achieve their potential in the field of dentistry and beyond.
Dr. Lia believes her patients deserve the absolute best. Her passion for learning is relentless, leading her to seek out and excel in the most prestigious postgraduate courses in the UK, mentored by the legends of the dental world.

Excellence in Facial Aesthetics: She was awarded a Distinction for being in the top 1% of graduates from the Derma Medical Advanced course, an honour recognising her outstanding skill.

Mentorship with a Dental Icon: Dr. Lia travelled to Los Angeles for one-on-one mentorship with the world-renowned celebrity dentist Dr. Bill Dorfman, the visionary inventor of Zoom! Whitening and the dentist featured on hit TV shows like Extreme Makeover.

The Pursuit of Peak Performance: Her pursuit of excellence is ongoing. Dr. Lia is currently enrolled in the prestigious, year-long Cosmetic Dentistry & Aesthetic Restorative Dentistry programme with the legendary Dr. Chris Orr.
When she isn’t creating smile makeovers, Dr. Lia is a passionate runner and recently completed her first half-marathon.You may even spot her on a Tuesday evening at the Fulham Run Club. She also loves traveling the world with her husband Grant, continually drawing inspiration from new places and cultures.
Grant Goodstein - Founder & Managing Director
Grant Goodstein is the Founder and Managing Director of Pearly Whites, where he partners with his wife and Principal Dentist, Dr. Lia, to create a truly exceptional patient experience.
You might be wondering what led a Californian with a background in world-leading technology companies to the world of London dentistry.
The answer is simple: Grant is passionate about building exceptional teams and creating five-star experiences. Believing that a visit to the dentist should be stress-free and positive, he co-founded Pearly Whites with Dr. Lia to make that a reality.
Originally from California, Grant's career has taken him from San Francisco to Los Angeles to London, with roles at iconic companies like Twitter and leading several fast-growing technology firms. In these roles, he learned firsthand what it takes to build and nurture teams dedicated to outstanding service. At Twitter, he was honoured to receive the company's #Collab award, a recognition for teamwork that he believes is the cornerstone of any great organisation, especially in healthcare.
Grant’s background in technology guides the Pearly Whites commitment to innovation. His job is to ensure a patient's entire journey is second to none, implementing the latest technologies to make every interaction friendly and efficient. This includes everything from the convenience of online booking and paperless check-ins on our Clinipads, to supporting the clinical team with the best in digital dentistry, like our iTero 3D scanners. Grant also spearheaded the creation of our in-house membership plan, a modern approach to make exceptional preventative care simple and accessible for our patients.
When he’s not at the practice, Grant’s biggest passions are sports and travel. You can find him cheering on the LA Dodgers, the University of Michigan Wolverines (his alma mater), and Tottenham Hotspur. He and Dr. Lia love exploring the world together, constantly seeking new experiences and inspiration.
